I dunno if you'd believe it or not, but I was born with sinus infection.
It's true...my dad's got it and loads of my family members got it too...but I've got the worst one.
The doctors suggested two surgeries, but my mum doesn't want me to go for it now cause I'm 15.
But I've got problems which I tried to solve but couldn't. I really need help and advice.
* My nose bleeds quite often.
* I speak nasally...tried to speak normal...but can't.
* Pronunciation problem is the worst! I always get stuck while I try to pronounce the letters S X C Z ...and the letter S is present in most English words, so I always have speech problem...people don't understand what I say. I hate repeating again and again cause they don't get it!
* It's a bad one...breath problem.
I often get a bad breath...I try gums, breath fresheners, mints...but the effects don't last for long. I hate my own breath, and that's why I don't talk much....or I try to talk from a distance so that they don't get the smell.Sinus problems..advice needed?
THis is inexpensive and might help with the odor . It is cheaper than surgery and lots easier to do.The only things that really helped me was when my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need
distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.
best wishesSinus problems..advice needed?
I had similar problems with my sinuses, but I'm sure it wasn't as bad as yours. I had an operation called a 'septoplasty', it was the best thing ever....I used to get a lot of colds, because I always had to breathe through my mouth, and not my nose. When I came home from hospital, opened the front door, the first thing I could smell was the toothpaste in the bathroom. Here is an exercise that may help.
Stand out in the fresh air, breathe right in through your nose, and blow it out your mouth with your mouth wide open. Do this 4 or 5 times, and do it again whenever you think of it and there is nice fresh air around. As someone else has already mentioned, try parsley for you breath. Alternatively, try apples. They're great for bad breath. Or garlic (the garlic might not be as bad as your breath) (lol, sorry, couldn't help myself).
Here is an exercise for you speech problems. Take and ordinary everyday ruler that you use at school. Place it between your teeth so it keeps your teeth about 2.5cm (1';) apart, and start speaking. Say whatever you want, recite nursery rhymes, read the newspaper or a book, anything. but do it in front of the mirror. Even record it if you like. (I know we all sound terrible when we hear our voice back on tape).
I hope this will be of some help to you.
Les.
When you told me about this before I talked to my mom about it as she is an RN.(Registered Nurse)The only advise she could give me was to tell you to please go get the surgery while you can.You might develop complications from this and then you will not be a candidate for the surgery.You are a great friend and I know your agony.I do not like to see you limited by something beyond your control.You are very intelligent and a good looking young man and the world is your oyster.On the breath part,that is coming from your stomach.You need to gargle with salt water and take some ';sweet acidolopholous'; tablets or drink the ';sweet acidolopholous'; milk.It is like regular milk.That will correct the flora in your stomach.Do you take alot of antibiotics?Chances are the medication is what is killing your bodies natural flora.That in turn allows for bacteria that causes odor to flourish.Hopefully this will help that problem.But no matter what,like you have told me,hang in there and keep your spirits up.That is good advice.You know my door is always open if you need to talk Bro.
Hugs!
I went thru about 6 yrs with sinus infections and my Dr suggested I have surgery.I never did but not long after that I just stopped getting them.That was prob 9 yrs ago..havent had a really bad one in a while.
Id probably have surgery.If you've always been like this,I think itd be best to have it done now while your young.
Good Luck
Mints exacerbate bad breath problems.Don't use them.Try pasley it's a natural breath freshener.
i have the same sinus problems as well, was suppose to have an operation around 16 but never did, im now 23.
