Roommate problems- advice please?

I live in a double dorm room and the two of us share 1 bathroom. Until recently, my roommate would shower at night and I showered in the morning. Everything worked great.





Now she thinks she has to shower in the morning as well. She takes over the bathroom for an hour or more every morning. She thinks that the bathroom is her's between 7 and 9:30 am. If I try to take a shower anytime during that time, she goes off about how I ';made here late AGAIN.'; Even if she already showered, she'll complain that she couldn't get something she needed from the bathroom while I was showering. She dosen't have any classes untill 11 am, while I have a class at 9:45 am.





I asked here if we could come to a comprimise. Her idea: I can have the bathroom anytime from 5 to 7 am. I don't think that's a fair comprimise. What college student gets up THAT early?





I don't know what to do with her. She won't comprimise and go back to showering at night, ';because her hair would be wet.'; Advice about this?Roommate problems- advice please?
How frustrating dorm life is!!!!! I lived with 3 roommates for 2 years, sharing 1 bathroom; after 2 years of making all of the sacrifices, and cleaning up after other people, I got the heck out of there and got my own place. If she has classes that start at 11 then I would say the average person would need an hour and half 'window' before that to get a move on (9:30-11:00). Same goes with you, if you have class at 9:45, then I'd say (since you're probably out the door before 9:30, then 8:00-9:30). If she doesn't believe this a fair compromise, then see who there is to talk to about it. Since dorms are usually assigned, these kinds of problems are not uncommon and they usually have some sort of designated mediator to work things out. I live in a flat with 10 people and we have 2 showers and 2 toilets between us...alright, not everyone has to get up early and very rarely has anyone seen each other in the mornings but anyway, if you speak to her fairly (but firmly) and explain your points then she should understand your concerns. Say that you have to get up earlier than her! If she is still being a b*tch about it then call her spoilt and selfish! Tell her that she should get a hair-dryer and get in the shower after you in the mornings so she's able to dry her hair! Other than this, it sounds like you should ask for a new roommate. If thats not possible then just get up abit ealier than her everyday and be petty...

It sounds like you need to find a new roommate or just get a place to yourself.
You could be logical and talk to the RA about it......Or you could go with the more practical approach of setting your alarm for 5 minutes before hers, and race her to the bathroom. Just lock the door and tell her to suck it up! Have fun! :)
Talk to the housing administration about your situation. b
Ask the admistrator for a new room mate or if you could change rooms

Wake up earlier than her and get ibn the bathroom lock the door. If shes gonna be like that tell her your classes are earlier you need the bathroom first. And if shes complaining about her freakin hair tell her to blow dry it.





Why dont you wake up 30 min earlier than her and shower. Then she gets up and showers and while she showers you do your make up whatever. And you go to class/review HW/watch tv / relax/do anything while she puts her make up whatever on!





Tell her that you have a problem with her idea and tell her that you want to improve it. dont let her get away with any crap cause she'll probably take advantage of you if you do.
