I have a Ford Galaxy 1996, It starts shuddering when accelerating, when the clutch is fully up, when I dip the clutch it stops shuddering. Could this be the clutch or thrust bearings and roughly how much would this cost to repair? Appreciate any answers given.Car Problems: Can anyone advice please?
Galaxy's are front wheel drive, so no prop shafts.
Have the CV joints checked.Car Problems: Can anyone advice please?
You might want to check the tightness of the bolts holding the two halves of the prop shaft together and that you have a full complement of said bolts.
sounds like clutch
could be clutch slip on part of the meshing discs or some sort of contamination to the syncromesh. if juddering continues on deceleration then could be fuel connected, muck in the carb for eg.
Sounds like the clutch has worn out or if it has a dual flywheel then ford have a common prob with it failing.Does it rev up ok because if it doesn't then and it's a diesel then the air in take could be blocked?.
it might not be clutch related i have a different car but had a similar problem and it was part of my suspension had rusted alot and when accelorating it shuddered but it was also shuddering over speed bumps and turning corners if yours is doing that too you will need replacement parts costing around 拢200-拢300
