Pc problems.advice please?

hi my son has accidentally pressed something and now everything on the screen is magnified and a bit blurry.please can anyone tell me how to get everything back to normalPc problems.advice please?
My initial guess would be that the refresh rate of the montitor has been changed. Right click on your desktop, select properties, select the ';settings'; tab, then select the ';advanced'; button, navigate to the ';monitor'; tab, and check the refresh rate. Most CRTs will run at about 75Hz correctly, and almost all LCDs are 60Hz. Make sure you research your monitor for the proper refresh rate to insure my info above is correct before permanately applying the settings. Hope this works for you.Pc problems.advice please?
hi dean

what your son has done is enabled the magnified option in ';accesability options';(part of the accesories in windows xp)

to disable this go to start%26gt;programs%26gt;accesories%26gt;accesability%26gt;m鈥?then a windows should appear, just click ok and this should close down the magnifier, also check the taskbar,in some versions of windows theres a close down option in the taskbar

however a restart will normally reset everything back to normal unless you have requested the magnifier start when windows loads

finally worse case scenario you could allways do a system restore(start%26gt;programs%26gt;accesories%26gt;system tools%26gt;system restore)

any problems let me know

good luck mate !
Sounds like the screen resolution has been lowed making all the icons very large and pixlated, or the monitor has been adjusted somehow

increasing resolution: right click on the desktop, click properties (or personalise if you have vista) then go to settings, then you should see a slider bar with the resolution settings adjust it to your liking, more pixels will give a sharper picture but it may make things look small depending on how high you set it

If its the monitor being fiddled with try pressing the auto button most LCD monitors have them it will reset the monitor settings and adjust it correctly, CRT monitors should also have something similar
whatever is the operatinf\g system just go to system tools and select system restore and then choose a day when when the system was working fine and it shall be ulrite... on a different note just if the path to the tool is not known ,,,,,,,,,,,,

start %26gt; programs %26gt; accessories %26gt; system restore
In your display what he did is change the video card setting lower to maybe a 32 bit is what it sounds like. Kick it to 64 and also window size.
You will need to reset your monitor using the buttons on it. If that doesn't work right-click on your desktop and select properties/personalize then select settings and change your resolution.
i sounds like your screen reseloution has been droped click on the start buttom then go to control panel click on dispay and you can correct it from there hope this helps
try going to dispay setting you should be able to fix it there
